OPEN WATER INSTRUCTOR*

As a diving instructor, you will be a certified professional capable of training new divers. Your role will be to teach diving techniques, supervise dives and ensure diver safety.

As a diving instructor, you’ll have the chance to work in a dynamic and exciting environment. Every working day will be an adventure, with the chance to explore new dive sites, observe fascinating marine creatures and share unique moments with diving enthusiasts from all over the world. You’ll thrive in this stimulating and inspiring environment.

1. Comprehensive theoretical courses to master fundamental knowledge

During this course, we go back over everything we learned during the Dive Guide and Science of Diving courses. We’ll add learning new skills for teaching Open Water Diver, Advanced Adventurer, Nitrox and Stress & Rescue.
We’ll work on pedagogy and teaching, and we’ll also cover marketing and communication topics that will enable you, if you wish, to open your own dive center later on. A good understanding of the diving industry and business is also necessary to become a good diving instructor.

Instructor training lasts 12 days and includes Assistant Instructor and Open Water Instructor.

2. Pool training to develop technical skills

The course also includes several pool training sessions where you’ll develop your technical skills. You’ll practice dive drills, rescue techniques, underwater communication and equipment management. This intensive training will enable you to master the essential skills needed to teach diving safely.

3. Diving in a natural environment to practice exercises

You’ll have the opportunity to put your skills and knowledge into practice as you dive the magnificent waters of Nusa Lembongan. You’ll be guided by your instructor trainer, who will help you perfect your techniques and gain valuable hands-on experience.

4. Personalized supervision by our qualified instructor trainers

At French Kiss Divers, we place great importance on the personalized support of our student instructors. Our qualified instructor trainers will accompany you throughout your training, providing valuable feedback and advice on how to improve your teaching skills. They’ll be there to answer your questions, dispel your doubts and guide you towards excellence as a diving instructor.

5. Preparing for instructor evaluation (IE)

We prepare our student instructors thoroughly for the diving instructor exam. We’ll provide you with the necessary resources, exam simulations and review sessions to ensure you’re ready to pass this exam. Our goal is to prepare you thoroughly, both theoretically and practically, so that you can obtain your diving instructor certification with confidence and success.

Once you’ve completed the ITC, you’ll need to take a 2-day exam with a Certified Instructor chosen by SSI.

6. Open Water Instructor Certification

Once you have passed the exam, you will be an official Open Water Instructor and will be able to teach :
